Methodology
How we compare on woklima.de
Explained transparently: where our air conditioner prices come from, how often we update them, how the order is determined and how we are funded.
- Sources: Amazon and eBay
- Synchronised several times a day
- Last synchronisation: 18/10/2026
Specifically for air conditioners
Prices come in several times a day via the official Amazon and eBay interfaces; we store the history of eBay prices (Amazon prices only as current prices with a timestamp) so you can see whether a “deal” really is one. We check Midea PortaSplit stock every hour in the online shops and store systems of toom, OBI, Hornbach and Bauhaus – without any affiliate programme; it is purely a service. We have no test chamber: what we write about noise, error codes and running costs comes from operating our own unit, from spec sheets and from standards.
Where do the prices come from?
woklima.de brings together offers from large marketplaces. We obtain the product data – title, image, price, retailer and, where available, ratings – automatically via the providers' official partner interfaces. We do not type in prices by hand and do not use data from unofficial sources.
The offers on woklima.de currently come from Amazon and eBay (German shops).
- Amazon: via the Amazon Associates programme
- eBay: via the eBay Partner Network
How up to date is the data?
The data is synchronised automatically: the top offers on the home page roughly every two hours, the entire product catalogue at least twice a day. Products that are no longer available are removed from the comparison; their pages remain accessible for reference but are clearly marked as no longer listed.
Since July 2026 we have been storing the synchronised prices continuously. Where there are enough data points, the product page shows the price history and a price assessment – for example, whether an offer is currently below the average of the last 30 days.
Exception Amazon: under the Amazon Associates terms, Amazon prices are not included in price histories, indices, price movements or price alerts. We only show them as the current price – at most 24 hours old and with the time of retrieval. eBay offers also show the time they were retrieved.
What counts is always the retailer's price at the time of your purchase. It may change between two synchronisations; shipping costs may apply depending on the retailer.
How do we sort?
The default sort order “Popular” first shows products with a current price, ordered by the customer rating at the retailer and then by the sales rank supplied by the marketplace. Alternatively, you can sort by price (ascending or descending) or by discount.
On our comparison and brand pages we hide used goods and only show air conditioners that match the topic – selection rules such as price range or features are defined per topic.
How is the site funded?
Products linked with “To the offer” are commission links (affiliate links). If you buy through them, we receive a commission from the retailer. The price does not change for you. That is why all offers on woklima.de are labelled as “Ad”.
The amount of commission has no influence on selection or order: only product data such as price, rating, sales rank and discount feed into the sorting. There are no paid placements.
What we don't do
We do not test products in a lab ourselves and do not award test scores. Our guides and comparison pages explain buying criteria, technology and legal matters and show you which models are available at what price – the decision is yours.
Customer ratings come from the marketplaces; we do not invent or alter ratings.
