- Buying a portable air conditioner: PortaSplit, monoblock or split system? You want to cool your home but are not sure which air conditioner is right? - Air conditioner running costs: calculation, examples, saving tips“Air conditioners are power guzzlers” – is that true? - Make your PortaSplit quieter: damping casing rattleOn many units the plastic casing rattles or vibrates – especially when the compressor in the indoor unit starts up. A tip first (without voiding the warranty): activate the “Quieter outdoor unit” mode in the ClimaPilot app. If that is not enough, a little butyl-aluminium damping mat reduces the rattling considerably: the self-adhesive mat weighs down the thin casing panels, absorbs vibrations and makes the unit run noticeably more smoothly.6 dk. · 28.09.2026

- PortaSplit 2027: what the R290 successor changesMidea has announced the next PortaSplit generation: R290 refrigerant instead of R32, redesigned condensate drainage and a new outdoor unit. The European launch is planned for the second or third quarter of 2027. Here is what that means if you are buying today.6 dk. · 28.09.2026
- Air conditioning in a rented flat: what is allowed – and what isn'tThe most common question in our inbox: “Am I even allowed to do this?” Usually yes – but not for everything. What you can set up as a tenant in Germany without asking, where your landlord has a say, and how to avoid trouble with the neighbours.6 dk. · 28.09.2026
